A documentary project
Bearing Witness to a Wounded Land
A documentary project of place, loss, and contemplative witness.
An act of witness
This project documents the ecological and human dimensions of a wounded landscape — through photography, oral history, and place-based listening. It is an act of witness, not extraction.

Featured place
Burn scar in the mountains near Mora, New Mexico
North of Mora, the mountains carry the scar of the Hermits Peak–Calf Canyon Fire — a prescribed burn that got away in April 2022 and grew into the largest wildfire New Mexico has ever recorded. This is where the project begins: not with the disaster, but with what the land is doing now.
